About Our Town

Nestled just north of Knoxville, Tennessee, Halls Crossroads beckons visitors with its unique blend of rich history and modern charm. Its origins can be traced back to the intersection of Emory Road and Andersonville Road, where Thomas Hall, a Revolutionary War veteran, settled after enduring two years as a British prisoner. With land granted by the U.S. Government, Hall established the area's first businesses—a store, an inn, and a blacksmith shop—laying the foundation for what would become Halls Crossroads.

Today, affectionately known as "Halls" by locals, this community has blossomed into a bustling hub within Knox County. Although not officially part of Knoxville, it's considered an essential extension of the city, surrounded by Fountain City, Powell, Corryton, and Maynardville.

Despite its rapid growth, Halls Crossroads retains its small-town charm, offering a glimpse into Tennessee's past while embracing the conveniences of modern life. With six county schools, numerous banks, shopping centers, and a diverse array of shops and services, there's no shortage of amenities to explore.
